This 40-minute presentation introduces lower school students to a range of basic organisational tools and techniques. Students will learn about the limitations on their working memory and the importance of reducing their mental load. They are also shown how to use of their student diaries more effectively as well as wall calendars and memory prompts.
Learning Objectives
By the end of “Getting Organised and Staying Organised†students will:
• have developed a general understanding of the human memory and its limitations;
• have learnt how to use their student organiser more effectively as well as other organisational tools (e.g. wall calendar);
• be able to breakdown assignments and projects into small actions steps;
• have learnt the importance of having a clutter free and distraction free study space.
