Presentation: Clearer Pathways
Choosing subjects or being motivated to study isn’t easy for students as they move into upper school, especially when they aren’t clear on their life purpose. “Clearer Pathways” allows students to explore essential questions such as ‘What do I want out of life?’, ‘Who do I want to be?’ and most importantly ‘How can I get there?’
Learning Objectives
By the end of the workshop students will:
- have a clearer understanding of what they want to do with their lives and who they want to be in life;
- acquire strategies to be able to develop the above further on their own;
- acquire strategies to help them achieve their goals;
- have developed an understanding of the various reasons that stop them from achieving the things they truly want in life;
- be able to apply strategies that help them achieve their goals when obstacles start to appear; and
- be able to start identifying some of their own personal goals.
Student and Teacher Feedback
“Jane showed she ‘walks the talk’. Her presentation was animated, engaging, practical, helpful and uplifting. Over 100 people attended the Learning Fundamentals seminar, many parents with their children. Jane used her educational insights from Psychology to lead the audience with meaningful examples on how to improve memory and set goals. Evidence of her legal training was reflected in the clarity and persuasion of her professional presentation. Jane’s energy was contagious and her skilled input an outstanding support for our students.”
Des Mitchell (Principal of Middle & Senior School), Carey Baptist College
“Jane was great. [Clearer Pathways] helped me to organise my future and my goals”
Year 11 Student, Frederick Irwin Anglican School
“Jane brought an energy to the room. Her innovative and dynamic presentation style engaged students throughout the session, motivating them to develop their own initiatives. I would recommend this seminar for any group of senior students in order to focus them for the final schooling years.”
Kelly Liley (Senior School Coordinator), Living Waters Lutheran College
